Dr. Max Hausmann was awarded the University of Magdeburg’s Dissertation Prize. His dissertation focused on the computer-aided modeling of turbulent, particle-laden flows.

In his research, Danny Schott uses virtual and augmented reality applications to develop computer-based interactive environments, such as a learning application on embryonic heart development. He was awarded the Pollmann Research Prize.

Julia Pretschner and Hannah Mielke met whilst studying at the University of Magdeburg. Today, they are working together on a smart fall detection system for older people.

For Elicia Vetter and Lucie Kolbe, physical education classes this summer term were different from usual. Normally, the two teacher-training students attend their sports science modules – their minor subject – on the university campus. This time, however, their studies took them to the University of Jyväskylä in Finland for five days.
